  • Location

The Reform Club, Pall Mall, SW1Y

The Reform Club Media Group invites members of The Media Society to join them for this special dinner with Fran Unsworth, Director of BBC News and Current Affairs.

The dinner will be held in the historic Reform Club Library, one of the most beautiful rooms in London. Paid-up Members of The Media Society are invited to the dinner and may bring a guest.

As Director, BBC News and Current Affairs, Fran Unsworth oversees the largest broadcast news operation in the world. BBC news reaches three-quarters of all adults in the UK each week, and BBC global news services have a weekly audience of 346 million.

Fran was previously Director BBC World Service, BBC Home News Editor, and Head of Newsgathering before becoming Director of BBC News in January 2018.

But in the relatively short time since she took up this role, she has faced some major challenges including the controversy over women's pay and the Court Ruling in the Cliff Richard case.

We look forward to hearing from Fran about the challenges faced by BBC News and its plans for the future. It should be a fascinating evening.

Pre-dinner drinks from 7pm. Dinner 7.30 pm. Price £59.50 per person includes wine with the dinner.

Dress code is lounge suits for men with collared shirts (ties optional) and smart attire for women.

This event is only open to paid-up members of The Media Society, who may bring one named guest. Sign up for Membership of The Media Society is available here.
