Jessica Creighton - A chance to hear the UK’s "breath of fresh
air in sports media"
Conversation starts at 7.00pm
The Groucho Club , 45 Dean Street,
London W1D 4QB
Joanna Abeyie in Conversation with Jessica Creighton of Sky Sports News.
Jessica came off the pitch as a star player at Charlton FC to become one of the decades most influential sports broadcasters. In 2015, Jessica was named Journalist of the Year by the Women’s Sports Trust and was awarded a place on the Football Black List, which celebrates influential figures in football from the black community.
Jessica has reported live from three Olympic Games and was one of the BBC's leading voices at last year's Commonwealth Games interviewing many of Britain's gold medal-winning stars to an audience of millions.
She has featured on popular BBC programmes like The One Show, Final Score, BBC Breakfast and the Women’s Football Show, as well as presenting sports bulletins on BBC Two’s Victoria Derbyshire Show and the BBC News Channel.
Jessica currently anchors Sky Sports News' daily coverage, only the third black woman to work as a regular presenter on the channel.
This is a unique chance to hear Jessica’s experiences on trying to level the playing field for women in sport and increasing diversity in the media industry in terms of race, class, gender and sexuality.
