Music Rocks: Steve Parkinson In Conversation
Conversation starts at 6.30pm
The Groucho Club, Dean Street, W1D
Commercial radio is booming - but what does the dramatic decline in young audiences mean for the future. And, more importantly, what happens next?
Come and hear Steve Parkinson, Managing Director of Bauer Media, Europe's largest commercial radio group with major brands in the UK including Magic, Absolute, Kiss, and the recently acquired Jazz FM.
He will be talking to Helen Boaden, the former BBC Director of Radio, about how commercial radio audiences and revenues are growing strongly in the UK, and how the sector seems to be immune to the digital disruption almost everywhere else in the media. Why?
What's the future of radio, both for broadcasters and listeners? How has it changed and how will it change in the future? Does commercial radio have the firepower to keep younger audiences? Is it vulnerable to streaming services like Spotify? Why do advertisers like radio?
6.30pm at The Groucho Club for a 7pm start. Tickets:
